A user posted: “I’m curious how much you pay for a pint of Guinness where you are.
“My local small village pub just increased the cost of a pint of Guinness to a staggering £6.50.
“They did this right before Hogmanay.. which I personally believe should be illegal! Other villages and towns around me are still at £4.60 at the most.”
The revelation left the online community perplexed as they shared how the prices are high in London.
One person said: “I live in London now and the pub I work at charges £6.65, how’s your local getting away with London prices?”
Another said: “I’ve noticed over the past couple of years that the rest of the UK seems to have caught up to London prices when it comes to pubs. I live in Edinburgh and travel a lot around the north of England and the rest of Scotland with work. I’m surprised when a pint is less than £6 these days. When I visit London I don’t notice a huge difference in the price at pubs.”
