A fed-up teacher caught out 14 students cheating in their final exam with a cunning question.
The clever test has gone viral on Reddit after the suspicious university tutor caught wind of students regularly exiting exam halls en masse to visit the toilets.
Rule-abiding students were left “irritated” by the blatant cheating so the teacher came up with his plot – which involved posting erroneous information online about the question.
Writing on Reddit, one person taking the engineering test explained how they had personally found part A of the question easy, but part B impossible.
They said: “He purposely made part B impossible to solve, and about a month before the final he got a teaching assistant to ask the exact question [online], which was distinctly worded to be unique.

Writing on Reddit, one person taking the engineering test explained how they had personally found part A of the question easy, but part B impossible.
They said: “He purposely made part B impossible to solve, and about a month before the final he got a teaching assistant to ask the exact question [online], which was distinctly worded to be unique.
“He then created his own account and answered the question with a bulls*** solution that seems right at first glance but is actually fundamentally flawed and very unlikely that someone would make the same assumptions and mistakes independently.”
More than half the class were said to have exited the room during the exam – and were suspected of using their phones in the toilet.
Part B was worth five out of the 100 available marks, so the student opting not to cheat strategically left it blank.
But from the 99 exams handed in, 14 students had copied the exact false answer the crafty tutor posted online.

This meant their final score was a zero – and was accompanied by disciplinary action for rule-breaking.
Honest students were awarded full marks for the trick question.
In response, Reddit users hailed the foolproof question, with one writing: “This is Amazing! I’ve seen some stories like this and it always makes me glad I don’t use [the internet] for tests.
“If you cheat on a test you should get caught. Study like everyone else.”
Another person said: “Honey pot the cheating site. Genius!”
