Scientists say echoes of the Big Bang indicate that Earth is located in a giant cosmic void.

Astronomers have reported new evidence that our planet and the Milky Way galaxy are located inside a vast void that is distorting our observations of space.

A bold proposal based on an analysis of the Big Bang’s traces claims that our galaxy may be located in a region 2 billion light years in radius that is 20% lower in density than average.

If these results are confirmed, they could help astronomers determine the true age of our Universe and offer a solution to one of the most perplexing mysteries in cosmology – the contradiction known as the Hubble tension, which suggests that the distant Universe expanded more slowly in the past than the nearby Universe today.
