The Sun is becoming active again: scientists predict a week of powerful flares

After a two-week lull, the Sun is once again showing increased activity.

This was reported by specialists from the solar astronomy laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as reported by a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.

During the night, a powerful M1.0 class flare was recorded at the eastern edge of the star.

Although this event will not affect Earth, it was a harbinger of a more significant phenomenon.

Scientists predict that a prolonged surge in solar activity is expected from November 3 to 9.

Its peak will occur next week.

The reason will be the exit to Earth of two large active regions, which are already visible by giant magnetic loops.

Their size is staggering – their height reaches 300,000 km, which is more than 20 times the diameter of the Earth.
