Kelly Dirck was horrified after realising she had a bizarre link to a crime documentary which was released on Netflix.
Like many Netflix fans, Kelly Dirck settled in with her favourite cosy blanket to binge-watch the latest true crime documentary – but one detail left her horrified.
Kelly, who posts on social media as @kelly_dirck, was seen watching Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter, a two-part series about a mother trying to solve the 1989 disappearance of her daughter, who had been placed for adoption. But when police were going over the evidence they gathered, the viewer was left in shock.
She had recently bought a blanket from a secondhand shop, only to realise it had the same pattern as the one shown in the documentary as an important piece of evidence in a criminal case.
In a video, which now gained over 80,000 likes, Kelly joked: “So I’m watching this ‘true’ crime doc on Netflix, and somebody should go check the police station because I think they might be missing a piece of evidence.”
She then shared a part of the documentary where a detective mentions: “There were two specimens of DNA left behind by the offender. Seminal fluid on the bedspread. Bedspread was submitted to the state lab for DNA testing.”
