A man staying at a hotel spotted something unnerving during his stay, as people liken the room to something from a “horror film”.
Captioning the video as “new fear unlocked” and posting it to TikTok, user Ashiv_ shared what he had found on the door to his hotel room bathroom.
His video first showcased the regular lock close to the door handle, allowing him to lock his bathroom as you would expect.
However, as he panned the camera upwards, he revealed a second lock at the top of the door. And rather chillingly, this second lock could be used to lock him inside his hotel room bathroom from the outside.
“I hate this,” he said in the video. “Why can you only lock it from the outside?”

He added: “What if I go to poo and someone bursts in the door and locks me in? What then!?” Since it was shared to TikTok, his video has been viewed more than 15,000 times. And people in the comments section have been left both utterly confused and seriously concerned.
Comments left on the post described the situation as something closer to a horror film than anything else, with some suggesting the additional lock was “sketchy”.
Another user joked: “About to live out all the horror games you’ve been playing lately.” Another added that the room was “some horror game irl”.

Some said they would avoid using the toilet at all. “That is terrifying,” another wrote. “What is happening there?” Someone else suggested he take some radical action, saying: “See those Philip screws? Take those out and disassemble that thing while you stay there.”
Others wondered if there was a valid reason for the extra lock, with one suggesting: “I’m assuming since I worked security in a hotel it’s for emergencies, EMS or the security suits or managers have a master key that’ll unlock that but no one else.”
