A peculiar incident unfolded Saturday evening during a heavyweight boxing contest between Jarrell Miller and Kingsley Ibeh in New York.
Ibeh and Miller were battling intensely in the second stanza of their fight. Ibeh unleashed a rapid series of punches, electrifying the crowd. One of the blows forced Miller’s head back, causing his hair system to lift up from the front, exposing a bare patch that covered a significant portion of his head.

Miller removed the hairpiece from his head and tossed it into the audience. Several boxing enthusiasts on social media were observed taking photos with the artificial hair.
The pugilist revealed he acquired the toupee two days before the bout after mistakenly washing his hair with “ammonia bleach” instead of hair cleanser.

“I’m a jokester,” he told members of the media following the fight, per ESPN. “You have to poke fun at yourself.”
Miller prevailed in the contest by a split decision and commemorated the triumph by touching his head while performing a celebratory dance. He improved his record to 22-1-2. The match against Ibeh marked his return to the ring after his draw with Andy Ruiz Jr. in August 2024.
Previously, he suffered a defeat to Daniel Dubois via TKO in December 2023. That fight was held in Saudi Arabia.

Miller-Ibeh was featured on the undercard for Teofimo Lopez’s competition against Shakur Stevenson at Madison Square Garden. Stevenson was victorious by unanimous decision and secured the WBO and The Ring junior welterweight titles.
