PayPal Down: Thousands Furious Over Payment Service Problems, Unable to Login

PayPal seems to be experiencing some difficulties today, with many users reporting that they are unable to access their accounts.

Don't worry – it's not just you. PayPal is indeed experiencing problems. This is confirmed by thousands of users of the popular payment system, many of whom report various technical problems during lunchtime.

The problems, which caused customers to lose access and be unable to carry out transactions, began around midday and are still ongoing. The cause of the outages remains unclear, but they are affecting a large number of users, including those in the UK.

The independent resource Down Detector, which monitors “service outages or interruptions,” also recorded a sharp increase in complaints about PayPal not working properly.

In addition to the Down Detector report, social media is awash with user reports of outages, with many heading to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their displeasure.

One user named Michael noted, “Yeah, it's really annoying. It seems to be happening to a lot of people. I thought it was just me. They don't even make any official statements. It's not good for such a big company.”

Another user, Kagan, added: “Today my password suddenly stopped working. I tried to reset it, but the reset/recover password function on the login page is not working. I can't contact support because I can't log in, and the support phone number is also not working. What a nightmare.”

Meanwhile, Ken simply added: “I couldn't log into my account either.”

PayPal has not yet commented on the reported outages, but Mirror Online will be monitoring the situation and will update this article as new information becomes available.
