Ignore Freeview, Sky's surprise update makes TV viewing a lot more affordable

Sky has just unveiled a series of surprise early deals to celebrate Black Friday.

Signing up to Sky won't be as cheap as simply buying a Freeview TV, but some surprisingly early Black Friday deals are making it considerably more affordable. Black Friday officially starts on November 29, but there are plenty of deals available now, with Sky confirming that customers can sign up to get the “lowest prices ever” on premium TV.

The TV provider is offering a range of promotions, including the chance to get its latest Stream box for just £19 a month (down from £26). This price includes several exclusive Sky channels, such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Documentaries and Sky Max, as well as full access to Netflix. This means you can enjoy endless channel packs, such as Drive to Survive, without spending any extra.

If you want to expand your content, there are also deals available with Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and Sky Kids, with prices starting from just £29 per month.

For those who don’t know, Sky Stream is a compact device that comes in the post and can be installed by yourself. It uses your broadband instead of a satellite dish to beam on-demand content to your big screen, and includes features like personalised recommendations and full access to all the most popular streaming services.

If £19 a month still seems too steep, there are plenty of deals on TVs that now support the new Freely service. Argos and Amazon are offering significant discounts on these screens, with prices starting from £300.
