An air carrier is receiving criticism after a passenger who follows a vegan diet received what seemed to be a decayed sandwich, according to images.
Paul Booker, a British traveler who was traveling from Cancun to London on January 14, shared a photo of the concerning sandwich — which was handed out on a Virgin Atlantic journey — on X the prior month.
The photos display a pair of wilted zucchini slices along with what appears to be a scorched, moldy pepper on a small bread roll.
Booker conveyed to Kennedy News that the sandwich was provided to him as a breakfast selection nearing the conclusion of his ten-hour journey.
Upon unfolding the sandwich bread, he expressed disgust at what was inside — and promptly beckoned for a flight attendant.

“It certainly ranks as the most disappointing meal I’ve ever been given. It’s most definitely the worst offering I have ever gotten,” he expressed.
He stated there was “no chance” he was going to consume the unattractive meal.
“Honestly, it was akin to astonishment expressed through laughter.”
The sandwich “looked like it was spoiled,” he noted.
“I presented it to a friend of mine, and honestly, it was practically like shock translated into laughter.”
The flight attendant handed him a fruit mix and suggested he should reach out to Virgin Atlantic about getting a voucher.
“The box amusingly stated, ‘We found love in a hungry place,'” Booker mentioned — which he considered ironic.
“I certainly didn’t experience love there, but I certainly was in need of sustenance,” he further stated.

Booker stated that he spent around $820 on the flight.
In response, Virgin Atlantic extended him a £100 voucher, equating to around $136 — a suggestion he viewed as unsatisfactory.
“They could’ve offered me £500 [approximately $680] and it wouldn’t signify significantly to them,” he stated.
The traveler stated that the flight attendant seemed to be “genuinely ashamed” regarding the circumstance.
“All patrons, including those with particular dietary requests, are entitled to food that aligns with our established superior quality.”
The airline relayed to Fox News Digital that they address dietary requests extremely seriously.
