A TikTok content creator is answering criticisms online after seemingly suggesting that her audience members utilize a hotel coffeemaker to launder their undergarments while traveling.
Tara Woodcox, an influencer with over 700,000 followers on the social platform, aroused anger after her November 2025 video displayed to viewers how to wash their smalls employing a coffee-brewing device.
In the footage, Woodcox advised setting the item of clothing inside the coffee filter portion and initiating the brewing process — allowing hot water to run over it.
“You secure it, you hit brew, and it sends extremely hot water through it,” she expressed.
After the TikTok video garnered attention, she made it clear that she had never personally cleaned underwear in a coffee machine.

Woodcox also pointed out that she generally refrains from using hotel coffee makers entirely due to worries about hygiene.
Nevertheless, the initial video has persisted in spreading across social media, with numerous individuals voicing their disbelief concerning the prospect of utilizing a shared lodging appliance in the manner she supposedly proposed.

“Consequently, every hotel will now be adding a ‘do not use devices for purposes other than their intended use,'” one commentator posted on Instagram.
Others expressed that the footage caused them to rethink the items they utilize within a hotel space.
“I will not ever use a hotel room coffeemaker ever again!” one user contributed.
“This explains why we only have beverages at the breakfast table at the hotel dining area and not in the guest room. We refrain from utilizing it,” an individual commented via Instagram.
Numerous individuals debated how the recommendation could be deemed appropriate.

Reactions poured in promptly, with many on social media questioning why a person would consider using a coffee machine to cleanse their undergarments. (iStock)
“How could she assume this was acceptable? It’s disgusting,” one additional person expressed.
Regardless of whether she’s ever cleaned undergarments within a coffeemaker, Woodcox provided a comprehensive set of guidelines for her audience in the original video.
The influencer mentioned that individuals might additionally employ the hotel’s hairdryer to dry the clothing.
“You’ve obtained a more sanitary item of underwear to put on,” Woodcox stated in the original video.
She continued, noting that she was astonished by the number of individuals who were already knowledgeable regarding the trick.

The content creator expressed that individuals could utilize the hotel’s hairdryer to make the garment dry. “You now have a fresher pair of underwear to wear,” she declared in the original video. (iStock)
She remarked in the original video, “I discovered it many years ago from a pal who was a flight attendant, and it’s ingenious.”
Fox News Digital contacted the influencer for comments; however, we have not yet heard back.
On Instagram, her profile specifies that she’s a health and fitness expert, as well as a mother to three children. She shares clips on YouTube, as well.
