A security professional has advised every UK home to acquire a plastic sack without delay, as he highlighted the “absence of official advice” regarding actions to take if atomic bombs are unleashed.
This transpires as the UK amplifies its backing for Gulf allies, and a military historian asserts that the UK lacks readiness for an assault. Anthony Glees, a professor at the University of Buckinghamshire, communicated to The Express his recommendation for Britons to procure “plenty of bottled water.”

He also advocated “utilizing a plastic bag for bodily needs” and procuring a “battery-powered radio.”
He elaborated: “If you survive the initial blast, the safest course of action is to seek shelter underground if feasible – a subway station, cellar, or beneath the stairs – and remain there for 72 hours.”
Historian and author Dr Mark Felton has offered his perspective on Iran’s military prowess. Felton informed his Youtube viewers on Mark Fenton Productions that the UK is “unprepared for any such hostilities”. He stated that we are missing an Israeli-esque Iron Dome missile defence system or surface-to-air missiles protecting our infrastructure or atomic energy.

Professor Glees concurred: “There is guidance available on how to mitigate exposure to radioactive particles, for instance, in the event of a nuclear plant failure, but none pertaining to a nuclear strike targeting the UK. The absence of official guidance from the Government on this matter is, in my view, quite shameful.”

“If you reside in central London or near a strategic objective, such as Faslane or an RAF airbase, I’m afraid you’d be immediately vaporized.”
The other two places to avoid are elevated hills or apartments. Glees elaborated: “Do not attempt to flee to higher ground, and avoid living in an apartment building; the higher your elevation, the greater the peril.”
On Thursday, Luke Pollard, Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, engaged with representatives from 13 pivotal UK-based defence firms and Gulf ambassadors and defence chiefs to deliberate on enhanced industry support for regional partners.
This follows the MOD’s confirmation that the UK intends to procure supplementary Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMM), to equip British forces and aid partners in the region, including providing training in the UK when necessary.
Lightweight Multirole Missiles, manufactured by Thales UK in Belfast, have already evidenced their efficacy for air defence in the Middle East. The discussion centred on prospective novel defensive equipment and technology that British-based businesses could rapidly furnish to allies to counter Iranian drone and missile attacks.

UK industry delegates from both established prime contractors and pioneering new companies were in attendance, alongside ambassadors and defence attachés from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Iraq and Jordan.
Defence Secretary, John Healey MP stated: “Iran’s indiscriminate attacks pose a threat to Britain, our allies and our partners in the region.
That’s why our dedicated Armed Forces are taking defensive action in the Middle East. “A nation’s Armed Forces are only as strong as the industry that supports them. I’m proud of how our military and industry is stepping up together – just as we are for Ukraine – to offer rapid support to our Gulf partners.
This is the best of our British industry, innovators and military in action.” Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, Luke Pollard MP said: “As Iranian attacks against our partners in the Gulf continue, the UK is stepping up our support – both military and industrial. We are committed to defending British people, interests, and partners across the region.

“This event showcases a new approach: actively pulling in allies and industry to drive the pace on the defence kit the Middle East needs. We are bringing in British expertise to help our partners, removing barriers, and championing innovative UK-based industry.”
It follows as the UK and Ukraine agree a new world-leading partnership to enhance global defensive capability against the spread of low cost, high tech military hardware, including drones.
