Kentucky authorities apprehended a woman accused of inking her 22-month-old son with a tattoo.
The accused, identified as 27-year-old Brook McDaniel, was taken into custody last Monday by Kentucky State Police (KSP), according to the Adair County Regional Jail records.
During a wellness check, investigators reported finding the family residing in “unhygienic” conditions and discovered the toddler with a small, dark mark resembling a tattoo on his arm, along with noticeable inflammation around the site, local news source LEX 18 stated, referencing an official report.
Onlookers informed investigators that McDaniel allegedly applied the tattoo to the child while she was in the process of tattooing herself, the publication further indicated.

According to the arrest documents, McDaniel was detained in Monticello after authorities reportedly received a report concerning child maltreatment.
Troopers indicated the suspect acknowledged the accusations when confronted, as reported by Lex 18.
McDaniel informed law enforcement that while she was tattooing her own leg, the child supposedly “approached her and put his arm in the path of her tattoo machine,” the citation detailed.
Consequently, troopers reportedly observed a “small, dark tattoo on his right forearm with inflammation in the vicinity.”
Several individuals present also characterized the marking as a “party dot” — a term often used for a solitary small dot — and asserted that the toddler had “desired the tattoo,” the news source shared.
Law enforcement reportedly alerted the Department for Community-Based Services due to the “unsanitary” state investigators noted within the residence.
McDaniel was arrested and transferred to the Adair County Regional Jail. She faces charges of fourth-degree assault involving child abuse.
