Embarking on hikes in a park while clad only in underwear is peculiar. Removing one’s underwear to expose oneself and engage in lewd acts in front of others is a criminal offense.
This is precisely what the Louisville Metro Police Department in Kentucky alleges Gregory Mack, 59, has perpetrated on at least two occasions at Cherokee Park. They solicited public assistance after a witness captured an image of the individual.
The photographs, taken by numerous witnesses of a man in his undergarments at the park, led to Mack’s apprehension on Friday following the police’s receipt of anonymous tips. WHAS 11 reported that court documents indicate at least two incidents were reported to the authorities.
One of the two reported incidents, which transpired in late April, involved a man observed by two victims seated on a park bench with his underwear around his ankles, “manually stimulating himself as they walked past.”
The second alleged incident occurred on May 4 in the presence of a woman and a 5-year-old child who were in the park photographing an owl’s nest. Police stated that a man once again exposed himself to the victims before engaging in self-gratification.
The images provided by the witnesses aided investigators in identifying the hiker in his underwear who reportedly has difficulty keeping his undergarments on.

Mack was arrested and faces charges of first-degree indecent exposure and second-degree indecent exposure. WHAS 11 reported that he was granted a $2,500 bond.
I am uncertain whether scientific studies exist concerning the advantages of perambulating through parks in one’s underwear, but it is certainly advisable to abstain from such conduct.
Furthermore, regardless of your attire, maintaining all private parts concealed from the view of others is an even more prudent course of action, particularly when visiting a park. Individuals seek to appreciate nature and do not wish to encounter a man in his underwear engaging in public displays.
