On September 7, 2025, a spectacular “blood moon” will rise and Earth will witness the second total lunar eclipse of the year.
Skies over Asia and western Australia will offer the most complete viewing of the total lunar eclipse on September 7 from start to finish, but Europeans, Africans, eastern Australia and New Zealand will also have brief viewing of the Moon during some phases of the eclipse, including totality.
What time will the lunar eclipse occur?
Lunar eclipses are global events that occur simultaneously for everyone, regardless of your location on the planet. However, your ability to see the eclipse depends on whether the Moon is above your horizon at the time.
