The strongest solar flare in three months occurred on September 28: what to expect in Belarus

Astronomers have recorded a high-class impulsive flare on the Sun.

As a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti reports, it is the largest in the last three months.

This information was shared by BELTA with reference to data from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

An impulsive flare, classified as M6.4, was detected at the eastern edge of the solar disk around mid-day.

This event was the largest since June 19 of this year, that is, in the last three months.

All subsequent solar flares were significantly weaker, the laboratory noted in a Telegram message.

Experts explained that this flare occurred during a period of increasing solar activity.

The increase in the number and power of solar flares began at the end of the work week, on Friday. On Saturday, 19 flares were recorded on the star, including three mid-M events, though none of them were of lower magnitude.

On Sunday morning, activity began to wane, and scientists began to sense that the Sun's energy reserves were dwindling.

However, a new powerful flare has refuted these assumptions, the researchers said.

According to preliminary expert assessments, this flare poses no danger to our planet. However, scientists plan to refine all the data to obtain a complete picture.
