When to see the biggest full moon: It will be closer than ever before

On the night of November 5th to 6th, a mesmerizing spectacle awaits earthlings, if bad weather doesn't interfere.

Full moon days, when the night light approaches Earth most closely, are called Supermoons, but the upcoming event is called the main Supermoon of the year, writes a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.

The full moon will approach Earth at its closest distance this year, according to the official Telegram channel of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Solar Astronomy Laboratory.

The distance between our planet and its satellites will decrease to approximately 357 thousand kilometers.

If you want to enjoy the 2025 Supermoon, you can do so all night long, as long as there are no clouds.

The night light will appear in the northeast at the same time as the sun sets, and will leave earthlings only in the morning, being in the northwest.

Experts estimate that the event will begin around 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. At this time, the full moon will be low above the horizon.

Something similar could be observed on October 7 and will be seen on December 4.

However, in terms of scale, tonight’s event is incomparable with other Supermoons.
