A group of friends were left terrified after taking a selfie while on a hike and spotting a creepy figure in the background – do you see the face?

A group of mates were left distressed after they took a snap during a nature trek, only to find something sinister hiding in the background – the photo has now become an internet sensation for all the wrong reasons.
Many of us relish capturing memories with our companions while enjoying a day trip. From candid selfies and friend group photos to picturesque panoramas, it’s always fun to memorialise such moments.
But for six pals on an outing in Chile, what was meant to be a joyful picture turned eerie. At first glance, the image seems like your typical group photo.
However, upon closer inspection, there lurks an unsettling detail. Hidden between the two ladies at the bottom right-hand side of the frame, you can spot a puzzling and creepy smile.
Don’t miss… The spooky walk around ‘Britain’s only desert’ that has incredible sea views

What’s frightening is that they were certain no other person accompanied them. When they showed the snap to their circle of friends, everyone was taken aback by the unexpected ‘photobomber’.
The snapshot went viral across social media platforms, racking up 29,000 views. People flocked to the comments area to express their alarm at the ghastly face, while some debated if maybe it was just a mischievous edit.
One individual expressed their horror: “Holy s**t my stomach dropped.” A second stunned user confessed: “I didn’t see it at first time and when I did zoom randomly I noticed it, almost had a heart attack.”

Someone else drew parallels to Regan from The Exorcist. Yet another cracked a joke: “If that’s not a ghost face, they really did not want that person along on the trip! “.
One viewer exclaimed: “That is f***ing terrifying-even if it’s fake.”
Another chimed in, saying: “Gotta love when people post pictures with no explanation, makes my imagination fly,” A third person remarked: “Looks creepy.”
Another user agreed the snap is “spooky”. One adamant observer insisted: “That is no person. It is either pareidolia or a ghost.”
