A UFO has been seen over Ottawa, Canada, with conspiracy theorists bizarrely convinced aliens are monitoring Earth’s technology.
A strange picture is doing the rounds on the internet which appears to show a classic disc-UFO flying over the Canadian capital, Ottawa. The sighting was made by an unsuspecting individual who spotted it over the YOW Ottawa Airport, claiming it was unlike they “have never observed anything like this”. Confused by the UFO sighting, the individual submitted their image to UFO investigation network MUFON.
An eyewitness statement said: “When taking a photo of the sunset clouds at YOW Ottawa Airport I observed an anomaly in my photo. I took multiple photos in a short time.
“The object appeared in the upper left. No other photos contained the object.
“Lens was checked and was found to be clean. Zoomed in on object and was surprised to find a defined shape.
“I am a lifelong airplane enthusiast and have never observed anything like this.”
Conspiracy theorists quickly picked up on the image, claiming it is undeniable proof of an alien visitor.
Self-titled UFO expert Scott C Waring posted the image on his blog, ET Data Base, stating that aliens are interested in humans’ aviation technology.
Mr Waring said: “Here is a great photo of a disk from the side. The object was seen flying near an airport in Ottawa and is tilted so that we can see part of its bottom. The disk has a hump in its upper centre, similar to classic disks, but flat on the bottom.
“This is further proof that UFOs take a high interest in airports since the newest technology is used to create today’s jets and airliners.”
While the existence of aliens has never been confirmed, the US Department of Defense has recently acknowledged a video from a US Navy pilot’s radar footage of a mystery UFO with “glowing aura” and flying erratically.
The video first circulated back in 2017, but it took the DoD three years to acknowledge the video’s existence.

According to Pentagon spokeswoman Sue Gough, the sighting was released “in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos”.
She said: “After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorised release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.”
When the 2017 footage emerged, a former Pentagon employee Luis Elizondo, who headed up a secret official UFO program, said it was “compelling evidence” we might not be alone in the universe.
Mr Elizondo said: “These aircraft – we’ll call them aircraft – are displaying characteristics that are not currently within the US inventory nor in any foreign inventory that we are aware of.
“Things that don’t have any obvious flight services, any obvious forms of propulsion, and manoeuvring in ways that include extreme manoeuvrability beyond, I would submit, the healthy G-forces of a human or anything biological.”
