An Irish man could face up to 25 years in prison after being accused of a vicious attack in Australia which left the victim with stab wounds to his head and body.
Oliver Solan, 30, was also left with a partially severed ear and remains in a serious but stable condition following surgery.
He was found by neighbours slumped in an apartment hallway following the attack in Sydney, New South Wales, on Saturday night.
Police and paramedics descended on Young Street in Randwick on the city's east side following the incident just before 9pm local time.

Daily Mail Australia reports the accused pair had been out drinking with Mr Solan at a nearby pub earlier that night before returning to the couple's apartment.
They were arrested soon after officers arrived at the scene, but the four others – all believed to be also Irish – remain at large.
Bodycam video shows a shirtless Earle was handcuffed before he was then taken by ambulance to Prince of Wales Hospital with an arm injury.
