The seemingly straightforward puzzle has left many people scratching their heads as they attempt to determine the letter that completes the second sequence.
A “fun” brainteaser left a mother flabbergasted after she found it on her daughter’s job application. The mother shared it with the online community on Reddit, and social media users are now trying to solve it.
Applicants were puzzled with one mother sharing that both she and her daughter were unsure of the answer. She wrote: “My daughter is applying for a job, and this is part of the application. Any ideas?”
Interestingly, the solution is quite simple.
The straightforward brainteaser asks for the next letter in a string of the alphabet ranging from “A, D, G, J, M, P” for the first line and “C, G, K, O, S, ?” for the second, reports Mirror Online.

The brainteaser, labelled “Just for fun, answer this,” has challenged solvers to decode what initially appears to be a random mix of letters.
However, there is a method behind the apparent chaos. Observant puzzlers have uncovered a hidden pattern, revealing that the two rows of letters must be analysed together to discover the final letter.
In response to the mother and daughter who were puzzled, one user explained that the answer involves counting the spaces between letters, with each row skipping an increasing number of letters.
They clarified: “The first row skips two letters—A (BC) D (EF) G (HI) J… The second row skips three letters—C (DEF) G (HIJ) K (LMN) O (PQR) S…”

Another user shared a similar solution, pointing out, “The number of skipped letters between the top and bottom rows increases by one each time: a(b)c, d(ef)g, g(hij)k, etc.”
Ultimately, thanks to these insights, the final letter was identified. According to the solution shared by the community on Reddit, the correct answer to the job application’s final question is “W.”
Brainteasers are puzzles or questions designed to challenge thinking and problem-solving skills. They often involve logical, mathematical, or lateral thinking, requiring you to think creatively or “outside the box” to find the solution.
Unlike straightforward questions, brainteasers often include hidden tricks, clever wordplay, or unexpected twists that make the answer less obvious.
