Timothy Sahrang La, 35, was taken into custody after paramedics responded to a call from a “hysterical” woman, who revealed he had shot his father.
In a chilling confession, a 35 year old Las Vegas man has been accused of fatally shooting his father, allegedly claiming extraterrestrial commands led to the heinous act.
Local station 8 News Now. reported that Timothy Sahrang La was apprehended by authorities on Feb 5 around 6:18 pm after the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was alerted by an emergency call from La’s distraught mother.
She reported her husband as unresponsive and without breath.
The incident turned sinister when paramedics reached their house on Caprock Canyon Avenue and located Eun Jin La, aged 73, deceased in the master bedroom. Initially deemed as natural causes, suspicions were raised once cops entered the scenario, prompting the intervention of homicide detectives, True Crime News recounts.
According to police reports, while La’s mother confirmed her son resided at home, she hadn’t seen him since he reportedly left for work that day, mentioning her son’s medical condition which remains unspecified. During the course of investigation, detectives have come to believe that Timothy fired at his father inside the residence before escaping.
Upon being questioned, Timothy allegedly informed officers that post-shooting, he went for a walk in the local area. He claimed his actions were a rescue effort, asserting he “was saving someone,” referring to a “worker,” from “being tortured,” reports The Mirror US.
La informed investigators that the “worker” was “wearing the skin of his father’s face” and claimed aliens “had told him to kill his father”, adding that he felt as if “he was on a different planet.”
A 9mm gun and casing were discovered at the property during a police search. La was subsequently charged with open murder using a deadly weapon and denied bail.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department issued a press release stating: “Detectives were able to determine the victim had suffered from a gunshot wound. They learned the victim had been home alone with his 35-year-old son, later identified as Timothy La. Detectives determined that at some point, La had shot his father and left the home.
“La later returned to the residence and was taken into custody by patrol officers,” The statement continued: “La was arrested for Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.”
