A Lexington, Kentucky boy may have to take on extra chores around the house to earn pocket money after his love of sweets led to an unexpected incident.
According to the Associated Press (AP), Holly LaFavers said her son Liam ordered about 70,000 lollipops delivered to his home through his phone.
An eight-year-old boy used his mother's Amazon account to order 22 boxes of Dum-Dums candies.
“He told me he wanted to have a carnival party and he was going to order Dum-Dums as prizes for his friends,” LaFavers told the AP.
She noted that her young son “was friendly and kind to his friends.”

LaFavers said her bank account showed she owed more than $4,000 for the order.
“When I saw that amount, I almost fainted,” LaFavers admitted.
LaFavers added that of the 22 boxes delivered, eight remained unaccounted for.
She visited the post office and found out that the parcels had been returned to the sender.

“After much back and forth with the bank and several news outlets, I received a call from Amazon saying they would refund my money,” she wrote in a social media post, according to AP.
