A man turned his travels into unpredictable adventures by throwing darts at a world map while blindfolded and visiting the country where the dart lands.

Sorin Mikhailovich, 48, a small business owner, started his unique practice in 2012 after telling a friend he wanted to “wake up one morning, throw a dart at a map and go there.”

Mihajlovic started out by visiting remote places like the North Pole, Russia and Indonesia on annual trips, but now travels up to 16 times a year. His trips were initially financed from his own savings and later through partnerships with companies, SWNS reports.

According to Mihajlovic, he does not always hit the exact spot where his dart points, but starts from the country's capital, since some countries, such as Uruguay, are too small for precise aiming.

His current favourite countries are Iceland, Argentina and Thailand, while Madagascar, he says, is “definitely” in last place due to “misconceptions” created by the animated film of the same name and locals who “don't have the best intentions”.

Canadian Mihajlovic praises Vietnam, saying its street food is “the best I've ever had” and stressing that it is the most affordable place he's ever been, SWNS reports.

He also noted that some countries, especially in Scandinavia such as Norway and Sweden, as well as Switzerland and the Maldives, can be quite expensive.

Mikhailovich's show, “Darth's Journey,” features footage from his travels.

As SWNS reports, he began editing and publishing videos during the COVID pandemic, eventually selling the concept to a distribution company.

“While we were staying at home, I started processing all this material from each country and created a season of 13 episodes,” he said.

“Most of the time I shoot alone. I hire a local cameraman, shoot and create episodes for YouTube, and over time I even started making shows for Amazon Prime.”

Despite the unpredictability of his travels, Mikhailovich claims that he is not afraid of dangerous places.

He said he recently visited Iraq.

“People said, 'Are you crazy?' It may have been unsafe, but nothing happened to me. We went to Baghdad and Babylon. It was wonderful. I ate camel meat every day,” Mihajlovic told SWNS.

He admitted he was “a little nervous” about going to Iraq given the political situation, but was determined to follow the dart's instructions.

“It was wonderful. I ate camel meat every day.”

“The idea is to visit the whole world, every country, throwing a dart,” Mihajlovic noted.

“I visited all the major landmarks that are visible on the map,” he added.

“Smaller targets are hard to hit, and besides, I throw the dart blindfolded, so I can’t
