Imagine leaving Earth forever and embarking on a space journey on a ship designed to carry you and thousands of others to the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri, a journey that could take 400 years.

It was this ambitious idea that inspired Chrysalis, a fictional spacecraft capable of carrying 2,400 people more than 40 trillion kilometers (25 trillion miles) to the exoplanet Proxima Centauri b. On July 23, the project won first place in the Hyperion competition, which sought to create a concept for a multigenerational spacecraft designed for long-term interstellar travel and capable of supporting a closed society for centuries.

While this plan is purely theoretical, it raises an important question: Are you ready to take part in this extraordinary journey? Take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments below.
