When visiting an avid cat lover for the first time, many people are surprised — and it's easy to understand.
Not only are there toys scattered on the floor, the interior is “decorated” with a couple of empty cardboard boxes, sometimes gnawed on, and the woolen sock lying on the carpet cannot be touched – the cat loves to cuddle with it.
After all, young parents with small children at home can see things like this. But why, why is there a separate bowl of water in each room?!
Hairy picky
Cats are very picky about the quality of their water. They often spoil it themselves when they climb into the bowl with their paws for fun.
Dust or random crumbs can get into the water if the bowl is in the kitchen, and then the cat will not drink. At the same time, cats have a poorly developed sense of thirst, and they need to drink to avoid urolithiasis.
Almost all pets like a drinking fountain because of the flowing, oxygenated water that moves in an interesting way. But not every owner has the opportunity to install such a device.
In such cases, backup bowls come in handy, because one of them will definitely contain water whose quality will satisfy the furry creature.
Always there
It is precisely because cats rarely feel the urge to drink that the availability of water is so important.
This makes them very different from dogs, which, at the first sign of thirst, go into “I see the goal, I see no obstacles” mode, and are ready to run anywhere and drink from every puddle.
A cat can easily get distracted by playing or cleaning itself on the way to the water bowl and forget that it was actually going to drink, or it may simply be too lazy to go that far. But if the bowl is always a couple of meters away, it can drink a little.
Some people don't like drinking from plastic or metal, while others can't stand it when their mustache touches the edges of the container.
Choose what your pet likes and make sure the water is always fresh!
