How to become a video blogger?

Blogging is a popular profession that brings not only a high income but also popularity, fulfillment of creative ambitions, and financial independence. Of course, you can't just walk into a blog and get a job, but that's what makes it so appealing: you can start from scratch, without worrying about a resume, education, or start-up capital.

What does a person need to get started?

  • Video camera or smartphone.
  • Computer or laptop.
  • Tripod.
  • Video editing program.

Is that all?

Of course not. But these aforementioned elements are physically necessary; everything else—skill, creativity, ideas—are intangible assets that can't be bought with money.

Step 1: Come up with a blog topic

A blogger is an opinion leader in a particular field. In the early days of blogging, it was enough to document one's life regularly; a close audience would subscribe to such a “series” and be willing to simply watch someone else's life.

Over time, this has ceased to be surprising, so now, in order to develop, it is necessary to determine your niche.

For example, weight loss, shopping on AliExpress, reviews of children's board games, foreign language learning, educational games for toddlers, video games, pranks, challenges, sports training, recipes, knitting, gardening—in short, anything you're knowledgeable about and interested in.

It's important to choose a niche based on your interests, as it's impossible to run a channel and develop a blog if the topic is boring and was chosen solely for its popularity.

Step 2: Create a content plan

Try brainstorming 100 topics for your blog. Grab a piece of paper or open a file on your computer, start writing without thinking, and list everything related to the blog's topic.

If you find yourself drifting off in a different direction while writing, don't stop; keep writing. You've activated your brain, and it's responding to whatever comes to mind. This is how you can extract the most cherished thoughts of your subconscious.

Process your list and organize it, creating a clear work plan for 2-3 months in advance.

Step 3: Think through the scenario

Video content requires images and sound; text alone isn't enough. Consider a rough video script, filming location, and plan your video.

If you're planning to start a children's toy review channel, you'll need a location with good lighting, a neutral background, a review plan, and funds to purchase the toys.

To film video gameplay, you'll need a video editor that supports chroma keying, allowing you to replace the background with another video. You can edit such a video using VideoMONTAZH. The program is particularly user-friendly due to its Russian-language interface and easy operation.

Step 4: Try making a test video

Record a video and review it for flaws. You'll notice any issues with lighting, sound, and voiceover. At this stage, it's worth sorting out the major flaws from the minor ones and working on fixing them.

Let's say bad sound can be fixed by buying the most basic microphone, the lighting can be adjusted initially with improvised devices, but crumpled speech needs to be re-edited immediately – no one will listen to “mumbling” and will immediately switch the video.

Step 5: Troubleshooting

Write the text in advance so you can read it from a piece of paper. Over time, you'll get better at it, and all you'll have left to work with is an outline, and the words will flow smoothly. But at first, it will take practice.

Gradually, you'll buy more lamps and order a banner for the background—this will significantly save installation time, but you can launch a blog without it.

Step 6. Launch

Film your first 2-3 videos, edit them, and upload them to your channel, formatting them according to all the rules. Fill in the title, keywords, and description. Don't forget to include an introduction inviting people to subscribe and like, ask a question, and ask for answers in the comments.

Be patient, shoot, and post videos regularly. Growing views and subscribers doesn't happen overnight; it all takes time.

Good luck to you!
