Google is celebrating the start of the 2025-26 school year with a quadratic equation-themed Doodle.
The mathematical formula has useful applications in physics, engineering, and business.
Because this equation can also be used to explain movements in sports, the picture shows the word “Google” with the second “g” and the second “e” kicking the second “o” (orange and black, like a basketball) back and forth over the “l”.
Handwritten examples of what a formula might look like, such as y = ax squared + bx + c, surround the animated Doodle.
