A teaching assistant has reportedly appeared in court after using a spray that smelled so bad that students needed medical attention.
Alexander Lewis, a teacher's aide at West Florence High School in South Carolina, used a spray he bought online that mimicked the smell of feces.
Court documents allege Lewis used the spray repeatedly between August 25 and September 19, causing disruptions to classes, affecting the school's air conditioning system and leading to students calling the nurse with respiratory complaints.
His actions are said to have cost the school approximately $55,000 (£40,000) in numerous checks and repairs to the air conditioning system.
The unpleasant smell caused students and staff to suffer from headaches, nausea and dizziness.
He was arrested after CCTV captured him walking down a school hallway with an object in his hand, spraying something and putting it in his pocket.

Lewis denies any involvement, claiming he was spraying lemon-scented hand sanitizer, which police found when they searched his car.
