A man living in Nardø, Trondheim, Norway, discovered that a shelf leads to a secret door that takes him to an underground bunker.
He said: “I live in a house that sits on top of a World War II bunker. When I bought the place, I knew there was a 'wild card'—an undiscovered bunker hidden beneath the property—and eventually my curiosity got the better of me.”
“Since the 1980s, the bunker had been filled with earth and sealed. After a little investigation, we discovered there was a window underground, and I just had to dig it out to get inside.

“As far as I know from our local military museum, this area was once part of the Sunndal battery, established by German troops in June 1940. The site was chosen for its strategic location on the Nardø plateau, offering excellent views in all directions.”

During the war, soldiers built barns on the very spot where his house now stands, and over time it grew to include more than 20 buildings.
He said: “In 1944, the site became part of the 32nd Marine Regiment and construction began on a new battery with 5-inch guns.
“Today my bunker is still intact, and I heard that other bunkers nearby are used as garages or warehouses, but mine has remained untouched until now.
The area is approximately 136 square meters. The two largest rooms are approximately 3 x 10 meters. The hallway measures 21 x 1 m. The ceiling height is approximately 2.7 m.
“A secret entrance through the library shelves. It's twice the size of my house. Part of the house is upstairs. I have no idea what it's for.”
He told how he was cleaning the room, but found a sink, a seat and even a bicycle there.
He added: “We have representatives from the military museum coming to visit us next week and I was wondering if there were any questions I should ask when they get here?”
Commenting on his post, one user wrote: “You've just increased the square footage of your home exponentially. Time to sell!”
Another user added: “Given the pace at which the world is progressing, this might come in handy…”
A third user said: “I would be so happy to find this.”
