Patient: 41-year-old woman from Beijing.

Symptoms: The patient presented to a medical facility with the sensation that something was stuck in her right eye. Doctors examined the eye and noted that the outer layer of the eye, the cornea, appeared damaged, but no foreign bodies were found. She was prescribed eye drops: one to reduce irritation and one with antibiotics to prevent infection.

What happened next: The eye drops didn't help, and a month later she returned to the hospital with the same sensation as if something was stuck in her eye. She also complained of constant redness and itching of her eyes.
