Emergency contraceptive pills, best known by the brand name Plan B, are a way to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. However, there are many myths and misinformation about how these drugs work in the body.
So how do the morning after pill actually work?
These drugs work by suppressing or delaying ovulation, the process by which the ovary releases an egg that can be fertilized when it meets sperm.
