A man has been arrested for beating and raping his own 80-year-old mother before hiding out in the bottom of a septic tank.
The 56-year-old suspect, who has not been named, was arrested in El Alamo, Chile following the horrific attack.
The elderly victim reported the rape to police and after a search her son was found hiding in the tank, according to local media.
The victim said that her son was drunk when he came to her house and allegedly beat and raped her.

The suspect had to be lifted out of a deep 'septic well' by police officers and firefighters, as a pictures shared by police showed.
He was arrested as soon as he was lifted free of the deep hole.
According to local media, the 56-year-old suspect was taken to hospital with injuries to his face.
Reports said that he has a criminal record for several offences, but did not provide any further details.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear whether the suspect has been formally charged.
