Surgeon, 62, dies from coronavirus after treating patients with disease

Dr Liang Wudong was admitted with the pneumonia-like symptoms on January 16 and transferred to another hospital for treatment but died this morning

    A doctor has died from coronavirus while treating the deadly virus at a hospital in China.

    Liang Wudong, 62, from Hubei Province, was suspected of contracting the disease on January 16 at Hubei Provincial Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine and was transferred to the Jinyintan Hospital two days later.

    The ENT medic died this morning at around 7am.

    A screenshot of messages from a closed group within doctors reveals that Dr Liang's mother had called to the hospital and said that her son could not be saved.
