The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem's Old City, famous as the site of Jesus' crucifixion, welcomes millions of pilgrims each year.

Its significance as a holy place in Christianity dates back to the 4th century, when the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great ordered the conversion of a pagan temple on the site into a church. During construction of the building, workers came across an old tomb, which they believed belonged to Jesus Christ.

Since then, there has been an opinion that the church was built on the site of the crucifixion and tomb of Jesus. Today, it is one of the most sacred places in all of Christianity.
