Researchers were preparing a project to build a business park in Creuziers-le-Neuf when they came across a vast 2,300-year-old necropolis covering 7,000 square feet.

Researchers first discovered the vast necropolis, comparable in size to other sites in Champagne and Burgundy, during preventive archaeological work back in 2022, according to the French National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (INRAP).

The archaeologists also found 18 fibulae, or brooches, that had suffered significant damage over time. These brooches required immediate conservation and restoration, which researchers from the CREAM laboratory in V
