Well-known paintings have been revamped to demonstrate how the subjects might appear if painted in modern times. Employing artificial intelligence, the Mona Lisa, the Girl with a Pearl Earring, and the Birth of Venus were reimagined incorporating some highly sought-after beauty fads from the past 30 years.

The initiative involved giving The Birth of Venus, originally created by Sandro Botticelli during the 1480s, a quintessential 1990s style update. It now boasts body shimmer, intricate nail designs, and those recognizable miniature butterfly hair clips. Elsewhere, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa received an early 2000s transformation, featuring thin eyebrows, striking highlights, and shimmering eyeshadow. Lastly, the Girl with a Pearl Earring, brought to life by Johannes Vermeer in the 1660s, now sports a contemporary aesthetic with pronounced eyebrows, radiant skin, and lips adorned with a nude hue.

The timeless artwork of several prominent female inspirations was reinvented by Perfectil, who investigated a number of style trends that have emerged and receded during the three decades following the launch of the supplement.

This is subsequent to studies revealing that smoky eye makeup, the ‘Rachel’ hairstyle, and kohl eyeliner are among the most recognizable beauty trends of that period. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Kate Middleton, and Beyoncé were also identified as the leading modern beauty icons of the past three decades.

A representative from Vitabiotics Perfectil, stated: “Many of the styles from recent decades have been extremely popular, so we decided to give some iconic paintings a truly memorable look.

“While these trends ebb and flow, the undeniable connection between beauty and inner wellness, promoting a wholesome way of life and a nutrient-dense diet, has consistently proved its value over time.

“This notion would have also been relevant when these portraits were initially produced, even before some of these remarkable trends gained traction.”

Other prominent figures who have dominated the beauty scene over the past 30 years include Rihanna, Kate Moss, and Jennifer Lopez.

Considering specific trends, vibrant red lips, winged eyeliner, contouring techniques, and lash extensions were also deemed among the most unforgettable, along with timeless styles such as nail artistry, a sharp bob, and sparkling eyeshadow. Crimped tresses, glossy lips, and even azure mascara also featured on the list.

Findings indicated that 51% of the 2,000 women surveyed believe several trends from the 1990s and 2000s are experiencing a resurgence, while 12% hope intense kohl eyeliner, a signature look of Traitors presenter Claudia Winkleman, might regain popularity.

During that period, 22% found their hair and beauty inspiration in TV shows and movies, with an equal number relying on advice from friends. In contrast, today, 27% now draw their inspiration from social media platforms, according to data from OnePoll.com.

In addition, 69% attest that their beauty regimen holds significance, allocating over 20 minutes daily to it – averaging two hours and 20 minutes each week.

More than a quarter (26%) even admitted to devoting more time to their hair and beauty now than they did during their teenage years.

The spokesperson from Vitabiotics Perfectil added: “Beauty has consistently been a focal point for many, even if the trends they attempt to emulate and incorporate into their routines may differ from those prevalent when the Mona Lisa was initially painted.

“The foundation of beauty is – and always will be – proper nourishment and a balanced lifestyle.

“The trends we adopt will evolve as we mature and discover what complements us externally, but the beneficial elements we regularly introduce into our bodies will remain constant.”
