ALIEN hunters have shockingly claimed they have discovered a statue of a Martian God on the Red Planet, which they believe is proof of an advanced civilisation on Mars.
UFO seekers were sent into a frenzy when they spotted what they believe to be a statue of a deity on Mars. The apparent statue is found enclosed between the bottom of two Martian cliffs, with conspiracy theorists claiming it is made out of copper or a “golden metal”.
The sighting was made by prolific conspiracy theorist Scott C Waring, who said aliens on Mars prayed to the statue for protection.
He wrote on his blog ET Database: “While looking over some Mars photos, I came across a strange figure hidden in the lower part of a hillside.
“The figure looks like its made of a copper or golden metal.
“I know this because the colour is very different from the colour of its surroundings.
“This was probably a god, a statue of a god that the people on Mars prayed to for protection.
“The statue itself has a head, a thick chest with a long robe covering it, a large book or shield on one arm.
“Very amazing discovery and absolute proof that ancient intelligent aliens not only lived on Mars, but prayed on Mars.”
However, sceptics and NASA would say the object and other similar findings are just the effects of pareidolia – a psychological phenomenon when the brain is tricked into seeing familiar objects or shapes in patterns or textures such as a rock surface.
Pareidolia would mean these findings are simply rocks in a familiar-looking shape.
Another recent finding which supposedly supports the argument of life on Mars was that of a large black rock which looked like a fossil.
Mr Waring wrote on his blog: “While looking at the front page of the Mars Science Laboratory website, I noticed that they placed a photo with a huge black fossil right on the freaking front page!
“How could anyone who has any experience at ancient fossils and artefacts have even possibly have missed that?

“NASA really doesn’t care about finding life, or proving that life once existed on other planets.
“They only want to drip feed the public boring science facts to satisfy the public’s curiosity.
“It’s called the trickle-down theory and NASA perfected it.
“There is no doubt in my mind that this is an ancient fossil.”
