Foodie slammed for ordering ‘worst takeaway of all time’

A food fan has slammed his friend’s choice of takeaway, claiming she made the ‘worst’ order ever – the topping on her chips was particularly frowned upon.

We all have our go-to dish when it comes to ordering a takeaway.

Whether it be Chinese or Indian food, a pizza or something from a chippy or kebab shop, we’re all different when it comes to our preferences. One Brit has been slammed by her pal over her recent choice, however, and was outed on X (formerly Twitter) for making what could be described as the “worst” choice of all time.

“My friend has just ordered possibly the worst takeaway order of all time? I am aghast,” bemoaned the social media user. Whilst cheese, gravy or tomato ketchup are common addition to chips, this hungry foodie opted for a somewhat unusual topping – most likely a custom creation rather than something from the eatery’s menu.

A snap shared online showed her chips sprinkled with sliced olives – something that has caused so much of a stir that the tweet has been viewed more than 13 million times. Coming to the defence of his friend, the X user followed up: “Said friend is vegan which might add necessary context to lack of cheese and limited dressing options.

“This fact doesn’t stop me from imagining the texture of rubber and sand that it would have.”

Scores of X users were quick to express their disgust. “I love olives and I love chips but what is this?” one person asked. “It’s times like these that friendships are tested but I urge you to stand strong and help them see the light,” sugegsted another.

A third added: “I want to spew. 1. Olives are on precious fries. 2. There is no binder (cheese, etc.) so no way to keep the nasty olives on the fries.”

Whilst a fourth slammed: “This is the worst thing I have ever seen. Brits have the worst palates in the world.”

Defending her decision, meanwhile, the friend in question later took to the comments section to explain she made an addition to her meal at the end of their night out. “Just wait until you find out I doused it in hot sauce when I got home,” she replied.

One X user amongst the hundreds to reply admitted the choice was “okay”, however. He penned: “I love potatoes. I love olives. What’s not to like? Sure this may be intense and salty and briny, but this seems like a fairly enjoyable snack, no? Maybe the olives would be more acceptable in the form of a tapenade, but this is Okay. You leave your friend alone!”
