A woman has been left ‘speechless’ after a vet sent her a heartfelt ‘message’ from her cat after she passed away.
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is an incredibly painful experience. However, in a touching gesture, a vet sent a ‘message’ from her deceased cat.
The woman shared a photo on Reddit of two heartfelt messages from her late cat, Izzy, stating: “My cat passed on Tuesday from the end stage of kidney failure. I got these in the mail today.” The gift included a paw print inked onto paper with the words: “Paw-sitive I’ll miss you,” and an imprint of the cat’s nose and mouth beneath the phrase “Kisses before I go!”
The woman confessed that she was left speechless by the gesture, as she had been grappling with her loss. She said: “Looking for her in spots that she would normally hang out and then not seeing her there is probably one of the hardest things.”
Responding to her post, one user wrote: “Stop. This would have wrecked me had the vet sent these. Mine passed away two weeks ago from the same, end stage renal failure. I miss her terribly and keep looking for her around the corners. Sending you hugs.”
Another user shared: “I lost my boy Louie very suddenly a few months ago and after a week or so I had a dream where I went to go to my car and opened the door and he ran in and went up to his favourite spot on the couch. They find ways to come back and visit.”

A third user shared their poignant experience: “My soul kitty Tessie passed almost three years ago from an intestinal blockage caused by a tumour on her spine. She was a large cat, about 14 lbs (6.35 kg), so I could always feel it when she came to bed.
“Now there are times when I feel the bed sink in a spot and I’ll assume it’s my current cat, Emily, but when I reach out to pet her she’s not there. I believe it’s Tessie, and she’s come home for bedtime.”

Another grieving owner recounted: “Same happened after I lost my soul kitty Mystic to cancer. It happened a few times when I felt her jump up on the bed, but no kitty there. The final goodbye came when I distinctly felt her wrap her little paws around my arm in a hug – same as she did I life.
“I know without a doubt it was her! A few years ago a friend noticed a shadow kitty twined around my legs in a photo. We had no cats at the time, so I like to think it was Mystic still hanging around.”
