Gypsy Rose Blanchard reveals prison ‘energy drink’ recipe

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who is known for her part in the murder of her mother, has shared a video of herself making a ‘prison-style’ energy drink.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has taken the internet by storm once more, this time revealing a unique prison culinary concoction.

The 32-year-old found herself behind bars in the US after masterminding the murder of her mother in 2015, after enduring years of medical abuse at her hands.

Emerging from incarceration after serving eight years of a decade-long sentence, Gypsy’s online presence exploded. Initially, her viral fame was tied to discussions around her controversial case, but now she’s offering the world a peek into the survival hacks that sustained her through her prison stint.

In a TikTok video amassing over 2.4 million likes, Gypsy walks viewers through the creation of a “prison-style” energy drink. She said: “I’m about to show you how to make a prison-style energy drink with only four ingredients. I want to disclose that this is a non-alcoholic drink, so I don’t promote alcohol on my channel.

“The first thing you’ll need is a bag of Jolly Ranchers, Kool-Aid Hawaiian Punch singles, a strawberry Fanta and Folgers instant coffee.”

Gypsy then explained the popularity of such drinks in prison, noting: “Everyone in prison usually makes these drinks because nobody gets Red Bull.”

She began by pulverising her Jolly Ranchers, akin to boiled sweets, and ensuring her coffee was fully dissolved in hot water. She then instructed: “You take your Kool-Aid single and you put it in your mixing bowl. You’ll just get a good swirl around.

“I like to use the Hawaiian Punch because any other flavour would actually just taste really disgusting. You want to use a strawberry Fanta – because the whole point is to make it, like kind of juicy flavoured, like very fruity.

“Just pour your Fanta in there and you’ll give it a good mix. It will foam up and that’s completely okay. You can either keep swirling it around until the foam goes down or you don’t really have to.”

For an extra burst of fruitiness, she added the crushed sweets into the mix before preparing to serve. Gypsy suggested serving the concoction over ice for the best experience.

She remarked: “You will want to serve it in a cup of ice. Do not try to drink this warm. That would be absolutely disgusting. I know what you’re thinking. This looks so gross right?

“I didn’t like it at first, but then like, they grew on me. I’m going to give it a nice good little swirl again. All right. And voila. That’s all there is to it.”
