The perpetrator who stunned the country through her brutal slayings was handed a bone-chilling diagnosis which shed light on what fueled her terrible offenses.
Joanne Dennehy butchered three individuals during a 10-day episode in March of 2013, abandoning their corpses in a drainage ditch whilst expressing to an accomplice: “I want to enjoy myself. I need you to make me enjoy myself.”

Her sufferers included her partner, Lukasz Slaboszewski, 31, housemate John Chapman, 56, and landlord-turned-lover Kevin Lee, 48.
Prior to her capture, she executed unprovoked assaults on two additional men, Robin Bereza and John Rogers, both of whom thankfully pulled through.
Dennehy, 31, was identified as suffering from paraphilia sadomasochism by a mental health professional whilst being held at Bronzefield prison in Surrey, as reported by the Daily Star.

The jury became aware of the unsettling diagnosis throughout the legal proceedings of two willing collaborators, Gary Stretch and Leslie Layton.

The court was told that sadomasochists obtain sexual stimulation from deeds entailing the instigation of “pain, degradation or restriction”, according to The Guardian.
Paraphilia represents a condition characterized by unusual sexual desires. The panel of jurors was told that some people prefer to endure pain or humiliation within sadomasochistic deeds whilst others favor to deliver it.
Dennehy’s diagnosis surfaced during a string of written recognitions displayed to the jurors. The jury additionally listened to a statement from a witness who recalled that one of the casualties, Lee, had informed him that Dennehy desired to “violate me whilst I am wearing a dress.”
The jury also took note of a telephone conversation from her confederate Stretch spoken to a previous partner, Julie Gibbons, at the time he was being held in prison.
Stretch stated “she has lost her mind.” Despite being brought up in a prosperous area of Hertfordshire, Dennehy became caught up in a life of drink, narcotics and minor offenses by her mid-teens.
At the tender age of 15, she had left her childhood residence to reside with John Treanor, a man considerably older than her, and had two offspring with him.
Their bond was typified by fierce disagreements, with Dennehy supposedly commencing to possess a blade and candidly conveying her murderous notions.
Eventually, Treanor relocated with their children, leaving Dennehy without a home.
In 2012, Dennehy was taken into custody for larceny and was given a diagnosis of antisocial behaviour disorder whilst in detention.
After being freed, she encountered Kevin Lee, a 48 year old father from Peterborough who leased affordable lodging to insecure individuals.

The two embarked upon a romantic affair, with Dennehy then serving Lee as an “enforcer”, helping him in retrieving outstanding rent from renters in arrears.
In March of 2013, Dennehy assassinated Lukasz Slaboszewski, a Polish national who was under the impression that he was engaging in an amorous affiliation with her. Dennehy later admitted to a psychiatrist that she murdered Slaboszewski “to find out if I was as emotionless as I perceived myself to be”.
