A man has been praised for his creative way of getting revenge on his boss who regularly scheduled lunchtime meetings with him.
Tired of this, he decided to give his boss a lesson in time management – and it turned out to be quite effective.

In a Reddit post, he said: “I used to have lunch at the same time every day – 12-1pm. I don't eat breakfast (just coffee and lots of water), so lunch is a must for me and I can't just skip it. My schedule was jam-packed, but my boss (newly promoted and determined) started scheduling meetings in the middle of the workday.”
At first I didn't think much of it. I thought it was urgent. But soon it became a habit. I reminded him that it was my break time, and he said, “Well, sometimes we all have to make sacrifices.”
Armed with this attitude, he made sure his lunch meeting was served a generous serving of spaghetti and meatballs, and deliberately began eating it on camera with the microphone on.

My boss kept scheduling meetings during my lunch break, so I started eating lunch during every meeting.

He said: “[I] slurped and chewed, sometimes giving the thumbs up when I ate. A few days later it happened again, so I brought in sticky wings. Last week, on Thursday, it happened again, and I was glad I had pizza.”
Frustrated, his boss asked him if he needed to eat during the meeting, and he responded with one sentence to put him in his place.
He said: “I smiled and said, 'We all have to make sacrifices sometimes.' It's Friday. We haven't had any meetings on my lunch break this week.”
Commenting on his post, one user wrote: “I'm glad you didn't let him get away with it. It's great that he finally refused to schedule a meeting during your break.”

Another user added: “Love it! A few years ago I took over a new organization. Every meeting was at 7-8am. I explained that I couldn't do it while taking the kids to school. The response was, 'Figure it out yourself.'
“So every meeting I scheduled was at 5 or 6 p.m. When people complained, I would say, 'Sort it out yourselves.'
“Suddenly all morning meetings were moved to a reasonable time. A week later, to prove my point, I moved mine too.”

A third user wrote: “Damn, my lunch got cancelled. If anyone (including my boss) schedules a meeting, I'm cancelling.”
“If it's a real emergency, I'll help, but lack of planning/awareness is not my problem. I've been “trained” to tell the project manager to do a better job if he can only find everyone to meet for lunch. I tend to be the grumpy old man at work.”
