A lady who saw something exceptional amid a near-death occurrence asserts she is “not any longer” terrified of passing away. Public relations director Lorna Harris endured a critical health setback during the summer months of 2023, when she awoke in the early hours, overcome by “intense pain” in her chest and struggling for air.
Following a fall from the bed’s edge, the 52-year-old from Whitstable, Kent, fortunately was able to dial 999 and pull herself towards the entrance, allowing paramedics to enter and conduct an electrocardiogram or ECG. Informed that she was suffering a heart “event”, Lorna was positioned inside the ambulance, her hands and feet becoming numb, and she remembered the paramedic’s urgent words to the driver that they “needed to leave”.

Lorna confided in The Mail: “The following moment, I found myself enclosed by a boundary of gorgeous, sparkling white glimmers around me, overflowing with light. I observed myself from a higher viewpoint, as though I was a drone hovering over the scene, being rushed from the ambulance and wheeled swiftly along a corridor.

She went on: “Subsequently, I detected a female doctor sporting scrubs positioned above me delivering CPR. Following that, a surgeon entered. He donned a brilliantly hued striking bandana and Vans trainers. I saw myself partly clothed on the table and experienced embarrassment.
“The surgeon pointed out my vividly pink pyjama trousers which had been removed from my physique and instructed the nurse to place them inside a bag for me. I am still capable of picturing every portion of the space, the shade of the walls, what the doctors resembled.”

She recalled how everything “became dim”, succeeded by the “most serene slumber” she had ever experienced. Lorna affirms she was cognizant of being deceased, but, in comforting words for everybody, stresses she “felt only tranquility”.

Subsequently, Lorna awakened in cardiac care, having been unconscious for a couple of hours, despite her claiming it felt like mere moments, and a nurse informed her they’d extracted a clot from her heart.
Lorna had undergone a substantial heart attack and two cardiac arrests, and allegedly died for a number of minutes. She narrated her distinctive occurrence to a different cardiologist on the ward.
He depicted NDEs as “one of the remaining enigmas”, and, even more surprisingly, disclosed that, in his capacity as a medical expert, they “frequently hear” patients asserting they had “observed things”.
Furthermore, the cardiologist remarked that they had professed to have noticed items on elevated shelves inside the space, those that might have been unattainable for them to view.
Contributing to the mysterious essence of Lorna’s happening, she additionally recollected that months later, an acquaintance of hers was scheduled for a consultation with the surgeon who had carried out the procedure on her.
Lorna requested that her acquaintance ask whether he did indeed sport a “striking” bandana. Her acquaintance phoned her later to verify that he wore “vibrant” ones and likewise donned “those shoes”.

In closing statements concerning her happening, Lorna stated that she did not experience fear during her NDE, revealing that she instead felt “calm”, as though she was observing someone different.
Most reassuringly, she appended that she now feels optimistic about the afterlife and is “not any longer” afraid of demise.
