LIFE after death is real, according to a man who astonishingly claims to have experienced “light and happiness” in the afterlife.
People who have suffered so-called near-death experiences (NDEs) often claim to have caught a glimpse of the afterlife. Scientists are yet to prove life after death is real, many NDE victims share similar visions of light at the end of a tunnel or recall hearing voices on the other side. One such man is Drew, who shared his NDE story with the Near-Death Experience Foundation (NDERF).

According to Drew, he suffered a “serious injury” on a moped after being struck by another driver on Halloween night in 2012.
He said he was then airlifted to a hospital where he received a clam-shell thoracotomy to stop him from bleeding to death.
Drew said: “I remember feeling very peaceful as I walk through the flaps of a massive, bright-white tent.
“Inside the tent, it was full of light and Happiness. There was every kind of animal walking around in harmony with humans. All of the humans were younger.

Life after death: Man saw his life play out like a movie in shock NDE
“Nobody looked older than 30 years old. Everybody was jovial and laughing. It was a place that I had never been before and I didn’t want to leave.”
Drew then said he could see his grandfather who looked much younger.
The two spoke for hours before Drew heard a female voice call his name.
He said: “After a few times of hearing my name, I recognized the voice as coming from my mother.
“I told my grandfather that I have to go because mom is calling me and I don’t want her to be upset.”
Drew then woke up from a coma and his mother was whispering in his ear.
The existence of an ‘afterlife’ remains a matter of belief, not scientific proof
He said: “After a few weeks, a nurse had asked if I went anywhere while in my coma.
“I told her yes and proceeded to tell the nurse and my folks where I was and what I saw.”
However, most scientists will agree there are scientific explanations behind the bizarre visions.

Life after death: Man was at one with universe and felt God
According to Dr Sam Parnia, of the NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, there is a common thread between people who suffer NDEs.
He said during an OZ Talk: “People describe a sensation of a bright, warm, welcoming light that draws people towards it.
“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them.
“They often say that they didn’t want to come back in many cases, it is so comfortable and it is like a magnet that draws them that they don’t want to come back.”
Dr Parnia said the visions could be caused by the brain scanning itself during a moment of trauma.
Institutions like the NHS also do not consider NDEs to be genuine instances of a person dying.
The NHS said: “A more accepted definition of death is when brain stem death occurs, which is when all neural activity in the deepest brain ceases.
“While it is possible to keep the heart functioning using life support systems, a person with brain stem death has permanently lost the potential for consciousness.
“The existence of an ‘afterlife’ remains a matter of belief, not scientific proof.”
