Only the sharpest minds can find the hidden cactus in under 9 seconds

This busy setting proves a hard task of picking out the cactus among all the green foliage in under 10 seconds, can you do it?

Brainteasers are one of the best ways to stimulate the brain and give the mind some much-needed exercise. There are three different types of brainteasers, observational, analytical, and mathematical.

Mathematical brainteasers ask the user to solve a maths-based question as quickly as possible whilst analytical brainteasers come in the form of a riddle or word-based puzzle.

Observational brainteasers, like the one above from tombola, start with an image or collage and users are asked to find the anomaly. In the case of this brainteaser, the setting is a florist and the task here is to find the hidden cactus as quickly as possible.

This mission is tricky as the shop floor is already heavily congested with an array of flowers and plants – with all the green foliage making the cactus hard to pick out.

Did you spot the cactus? No worries if not, the answer is above. The key to solving this brainteaser is to scan the image carefully from left to right.

The image in question is a melee of different plants and associated foliage, making spotting the cactus difficult. It can be found in the top right corner of the image in a hanging basket just to the right of the till.

This is just one example of hundreds of different observational brainteasers that can help test the mind and potentially improve its health.

The reason for this is that brainteasers act like exercise for the mind in the same way that running, cycling or swimming exercises the muscles in the arms and legs. They help contribute to neurological health.

The healthier the brain is, the less likely it might be to develop deadly conditions such as dementia or its most common variant, Alzheimer’s.

This isn’t to say brainteasers will stop someone from developing dementia, other factors can have a much greater impact, but they could have an impact.
