Rodger, a 10-week-old puppy, is desperately searching for a new home after being taken in by Jerry Green Dog Rescue – but an owner is yet to come forward
He was forced to watch on as all of his siblings went off to their new homes – but poor Roger has been left behind in kennels wondering when it’ll be his turn.
Ten-week-old Roger has been sat waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, in South Lincolnshire, for an owner to come forward for him – but sadly, he has gone another day with zero rehoming applications.
The poor pooch, an Akita Staffie cross, is appaently worried he’ll become the “puppy everyone forgets” and “doesn’t understand why he was left behind”.
His rehoming application reads: “My name is Rodger, and I’m a 10-week-old puppy with a heart full of love, just waiting for someone to notice me. All of my brothers and sisters have already been chosen – they’re settling into their new homes, surrounded by love and cuddles. But me? I’m still here. Still waiting. Still hoping.
“I don’t understand why I was left behind. I watch as the others leave, one by one, tails wagging as they head off to their new lives… and I wonder when it will be my turn.”

Described as a “playful, wriggly, and oh-so-cuddly” dog, Roger is currently a “clumsy boy” but he will grow into a big, strong dog.
He is still undergoing basic training and needs an owner who has the patience and understanding to continue this with him. The application adds: “I dream of a family who will love me through all of it—my silly puppy days, my awkward teenage phase, and my loyal, loving adulthood. I just need a chance.
“I love meeting new people and animals, and with the right socialization, I know I can grow into a confident, well-mannered dog. Training classes would be amazing—not just to learn good manners, but also to spend time bonding with my new family.”
He can live with children aged seven and older – and needs a secure garden with a six-foot fence. He can live with another dog and possibly other pets after a slow introduction.

The application ends: “Right now, I’m all on my own, waiting for someone to say, ‘I choose you’. I don’t want to be the puppy everyone forgets. I have so much love to give—I just need someone to take a chance on me.
“Could you be the one to show me that I’m not forgotten? That I am special? I’m ready to go home right now… if only someone would say yes.”
