Underneath an area in Israel, an archaic 5,500-year-old tool production centre has been revealed – offering new perspectives on a biblical society’s background.
The Canaanite facility was located in Kiryat Gat, a city roughly 64 kilometres to the south of Tel Aviv.

The locale signifies the inaugural uncovering of its kind in the area, according to an Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) announcement via Facebook in late July.
“The most remarkable things located at the area are substantial flint cores, from which intensely sharp, consistently shaped implements were fashioned,” the IAA communicated.
“The implements were employed as cutting tools for preparation of meat, and as agricultural instruments, similar to reaping hooks.”, according to <a href=”https://www.themirror.com/news/weird-news/exceptional-discovery-ancient-blade-factory-1345301″ rel=”Follow” target=”_self”>the Mirror US</a>.

The remains of the ancient workshop were brought to light at the city’s Nahal Qomem archaeological location.

It consists of numerous below-ground depressions that were earlier used to produce the implements and preserve the weapons.
The researchers unearthed long flint implements and sizable stones used to form and sculpt the stoneware into weapons.
The items will be presented at the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein National Campus for the Archaeology of Israel in Jerusalem.
The IAA has associated the discovery with the “Canaanite implement sector.”
The Canaanites were an ancient community mentioned in the Bible as existing in the region before the Israelites. Archaeologists have indicated that the instruments discovered align with the material culture from Canaan during Abraham’s time, showcasing the sophisticated technology during that period.
“Only select individuals” possessed the expertise to produce Canaanite implements, as per the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA).
The IAA supplemented that this finding reinforces historical knowledge of artistry and development of urban areas during the Bronze Age in Israel.
“This offers definitive indication that even at the commencement of the Bronze Age, the surrounding society was organised and structured, and involved expert specialisation,” the organisation further detailed.
“The revelation of a high-level workshop signifies a civilisation with an elaborate social and monetary structure right at the start of the Early Bronze Age.”
In April, archaeologists stated they had revealed proof verifying an ancient biblical conflict at a site recognised as ‘Armageddon’.
Megiddo is also considered the area where the concluding confrontation between the kings of Earth and God, the Battle of Armageddon, will transpire, signifying the conclusion of the struggle between righteousness and wickedness preceding Judgement Day.
“Megiddo is the singular area in Israel and the neighboring countries mentioned in the bible and in all prominent documentation of the Ancient Near East,” said Professor Israel Finkelstein, leader of the School of Archaeology and Maritime Cultures at the University of Haifa and long-standing director of the Megiddo Expedition, according to the Times of Israel.
