A woman has been criticised for her 'legendary' response to her persistent mother-in-law, who regularly opened her parcels without her consent.
She had been receiving office supplies at home in preparation for a small claims case, and every time a package arrived, her mother-in-law would open it immediately.

On Reddit, she said: “All the boxes clearly have my name on them. But she already opened one of my big boxes of legit stuff and tried to pretend it was for my father-in-law, even though I only ordered a small, fluffy envelope for him. She knew exactly what she was doing.”
Instead of asking her to stop, knowing full well that it wouldn't work, she decided to teach her a lesson she would never forget.

She added: “I ordered the biggest, loudest, scariest vibrating adult toy I could find. Next day delivery. My name in the middle of the box.”
“I now have a camera installed outside my front door – not only to monitor packages, but also because I have a gravel pad project going on and I'm suing the original contractor.
“I don't want him to come over unannounced, so the camera is there primarily for safety.”
When her phone notified her that the package was just five stops away, she stood by the window and eagerly awaited the arrival of the delivery van.
She summed it up: “Boom – the package hits the porch. And then? Her footsteps. FAST. She rushes to the door, grabs it and disappears into her room. Silence.
“Fifteen minutes later, I go out to walk the dog… and there it is. The box. Open. It's on the table in the living room. No one is hiding it.

“Nobody mentions it. Just… sits there. She hasn't said a word since. And me? I've never felt so calm.”

“I was at work one day, cleaning out my closet, when our bedroom door opened. There was my sister-in-law with some guy I'd never met, and they were showing off our bedroom. It was really annoying.

“I never saw her show off our bedroom again after that. Although she did get into the habit of showing off our little house (and all our work) when we had houses nearby.”
