Hank Azaria, the man behind many iconic characters on The Simpsons, tried to make a King’s Guard laugh with the voices of Moe Szyslak and Chief Wiggum.
An American voice actor left fans in stitches after he tried to make a King’s Guard laugh on his post outside a famous London landmark.
Hank Azaria is famed for voicing a plethora of beloved characters on The Simpsons since 1989 including the likes of Moe Szyslak, Chief Wiggum, and Comic Book Guy. The 60-year-old is also known to Friends aficionados as Phoebe’s (played by Lisa Kudrow) erstwhile beau, the “scientist guy” David.
However, Azaria has now taken the internet by storm after his antics at the Tower of London went viral. The actor was seen trying to get a chuckle from a guard stationed outside the Waterloo Block.
In a video which amassed over 293,000 likes, Azaria approaches the Royal guard, remarking: “We’ll see if the guard is a Simpsons fan at all. Well, sir, I do voices on The Simpsons.”
He slips into the persona of Moe the Bartender, expressing gratitude for the guard’s service. Not stopping there, he morphs into Police Chief Wiggum’s voice, empathising with the duty of service.

Azaria is also the voice behind Snake Jailbird, Springfield’s habitual criminal, rarely kept locked away for long. Adopting the crook’s voice, he jests with the guard: “If I were to rob anything, you certainly would deter me from that, sir.”
The actor didn’t shy away from showcasing Professor Frink either, the socially awkward mad scientist. He exclaimed: “My good man. Um. My goodness. You do seem to be concentrated and not at all bothered by what I’m doing over here. Uh, kudos to you, sir.”
Then, Azaria unleashed his final character – Comic Book Guy, tweaking his famous line to label the stoic soldier as the “best guard ever.”
The TikTok footage sent users into fits of laughter, with heaps of praise for the unflappable guard’s dedication. One user wrote: “He sees and hears you. He’s concentrating on his job.”
Another commented: “Give that dude a raise. I would’ve been smiling immediately. You’re amazing Hank.” A third added: “The guard after his shift: y’all… Hank Azaria came by and did all of his voices for me!”
British Royal Guards are renowned for their unwavering stillness and silence, epitomising discipline and respect, standing as proud sentinels for the monarchy.
